Overland Missions (06.25)
PARADISE FAMILY UPDATE –
Over the past two months, the Paradise family has witnessed incredible doors opening for ministry in Western Zambia. In early May, they journeyed from their home base in Sioma, accompanied by other Overland missionaries, to the district of Kalabo—a four-hour trip. There, they met with Chief Mwenemundu, who not only welcomed them warmly but also generously offered a piece of land to be used specifically for ministry to the local people. This meeting was a significant milestone, as it marked the beginning of their vision to establish a more permanent presence in the region for gospel-centered outreach and discipleship.
Building on this momentum, the following week, Justin, along with key ministry partners and several village leaders known as Indunas, made a multi-hour boat trip to meet with the Kuta, the traditional council serving under the District Chief. This visit was essential, as the council’s approval was the final requirement needed to move forward with building on the gifted land. During their time with the Kuta, not only was permission granted, but new relationships were formed that deepened the team’s connection with the local leadership. The council expressed enthusiasm and even extended invitations for Bible studies to be brought into their surrounding villages.
This season has been marked by an overwhelming sense of God’s favor. From open doors with influential leaders to growing trust with local communities, the Paradise family has been encouraged at every step. These developments represent more than just logistical progress—they reflect spiritual readiness and a hunger for the truth of God’s Word. As preparations continue in Kalabo, the family is filled with hope and gratitude, seeing these moments as evidence of God paving the way for long-term transformation through the gospel.
